From Childhood Dream to Business

While perfecting my macaron baking, I found plain macarons to be a bit boring, so I started painting them with edible markers

Art has always been my happy place. As a kid, I poured my heart into a detailed class photo sketch, capturing every freckle and missing tooth. My dream was to be an interior designer, but my love for creating never faded.

As an adult, I became a registered nurse. Interestingly, even in hospitals, my artistic side thrived. I embraced the idea that “nursing is an art,” creatively improvising first aid materials when necessary.

Canada brought a new life and a beautiful family, but tragedy hit with my youngest’s birth. Post-partum complications nearly took everything from me, leading to a dark time of anxiety and depression from PTSD. Art became my lifeline; I began drawing again, finding comfort amidst the turmoil.

I became captivated by cake and cookie decorating, fascinated by fancy piping and intricate designs. I first focused on calligraphy, taking a course to master elegant lettering. By 2021, I was taking commissions for logos, nursery art, and custom invitations.

There was more to explore! My artistic hunger led me to macarons. Mastering these delicate treats was challenging, but I added hand-painted floral designs. They became little works of art, almost too pretty to eat!

My love for intricate designs led me to floral cupcakes. Birthday parties for my kids became the perfect chance to practice my piping skills. I spent hours perfecting flower petals, inspired by beautiful creations I saw online.

This culminated in a stunning floral cupcake bouquet for my daughter’s 7th birthday, which was a showstopper. Parents at the party admired my cupcakes, and requests to order began. Hesitant about a food business, I took the plunge with my first paid order: 24 custom cupcakes for a friend’s daughter.

This sparked interest on Instagram, revealing my unique niche focused on edible floral artistry. I improved my piping skills and created a floral cupcake bouquet for my own birthday, which led to another request from a follower. Committed to quality, I delivered an even more elegant and delicious product, astonishing the customer. That moment was pivotal; today, my floral cupcakes are a local sensation
